THE WORLD REPORT

So, what is there in today's THE WORLD REPORT, as i scan the online and offline news-platforms and try to understand the pivots, what i see is that Focus is #WashingtonDC Plane Crash, where Over 30 bodies have been recovered from the river after jet collided with Helicopter in Washington DC, The Capital City of United States of America (USA), reports SUNDAY WORLD quoting the ASSOCIATED PRESS copy and LIVE VIDEO reports, the report further read that a total of 64 people, four crew and 60 passengers were onboard the jet with a number of young Russian Ice Skaters feared to be among the dead, among the Passengers on the downed flight included American and Russian Figure Skaters as well, reports ASSOCIATED PRESS copy. Contributing on the same development, RADIO FREE EUROPE RADIO LIBERTY report reads, Who Are Vadim Naumov And Evgenia Shishkova? The Veteran Russian Ice Skating pair who triumphed at the 1994 World Figure Championships and went on to a professional coaching career in the United States, were reportedly among the passengers on the plane that crashed in Washington D.C.

What really happened before Washington DC plane crash? Audio of conversation between Air Traffic Control and Helicopter pilot has been released, which reads, Less than 30 seconds before the crash, an air traffic controller asked the helicopter if it had the arriving plane in sight: “PAT25, do you have the CRJ in sight?”, reports ITV NEWS.

Finally, as i'm closing the Dispatch copy, PRESS TRUST OF INDIA (PTI) flash pop-ups on my machine which reads, "No survivors in plane, helicopter collision in Washington DC : Trump"

While the White House had a busy day, post mid-air collision event in Washington DC, POTUS Donald Trump continues signing bills after bills and Executive Orders - one after another, in one such event on Wednesday - Trump Signs Sweeping Xenophobic Bill, Rescinding Due Process for Millions, THE COMMON DREAMS report read, Trump signed the Laken Riley Act—named after a young woman murdered last year by a Venezuelan man who, according to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), entered the United States illegally—calling it a "landmark law" that "will save countless innocent American lives." However, "The Laken Riley Act capitalizes on a horrible tragedy in order to advance President Trump's anti-immigrant agenda by scapegoating people seeking safety," said one campaigner.

As i'm winding-up the Dispatch, another flash from ASSOCIATED PRESS (AP) pop-ups which reads, "Trump sings an aviation order rolling back federal diversity initiatives".

While in other key news developments from across the world, An Iraqi man - Salwan Momika, who carried out several Quran burnings has been shot-dead and killed in Sweden, he was refugee in Sweden, Salwan was set to stand trial over hate incitement charges on Thursday when he was shot-dead, several worldwide media outlet reports including THE KOREA TIMES, BRUSSELS SIGNAL and POLITICO reported the same incident.

In Middle East, Israel suspends release of Palestinian detainees after Gaza hostages freed, reported THE NEW ARAB, while Hamas fees 8 more hostages but Israel puts prisoner release on hold after a chaotic handover, THE ASSOCIATED PRESS copy read, which further stated that Hamas-led militants have freed eight hostages as part of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. But the chaotic handover of some of the captives drew an angry protest from Israel. Whereas Qutari Emir Tamim bin Hamad arrived in Damascus (Syria) on his maiden visit by a national leader since Assad was overthrown last December, report THE NEW ARAB.

In the EuroZone, it seems the Trump's Executive Orders signing process has a spillover effect in Europe, where  Turkish Newswire Services - ANADOLU AGENCY reports on how, Ex-German Chancellor Merkel slams Christian Democratic Union (CDU) Leader Merz for collaborating with the far-right AfD, In a rare public statement, Merkel criticized her party's decision to pass anti-immigration proposal with critical support of far-right party.

In an interesting development from the (rotting) legacy mediasphere itself, BBC apologises for culture of silence over Russell Brand, reported BBC, which further detailed that, The investigation considered eight complaints, two of which were made while he worked for the corporation. One of those, which related to him urinating into a cup and behaving aggressively during his Radio 2 show, was registered formally at the time, and the BBC has now admitted it was "not dealt with effectively". The BBC launched the investigation after separate allegations in 2023 from several women who accused the 49-year-old actor and comedian of rape, sexual assaults and emotional abuse.

In an interesting headline from Asian Sub-continent, Japanese region asks 1.2 million people to use less water to help sinkhole rescue, read THE INDEPENDENT report, which further read that, Japanese authorities have asked residents of 12 cities and towns in Saitama prefecture to limit showers and laundry to prevent worsening sewage leaks.

While a good pick to read, As the Sino-US Artificial Intelligence (AI) War sparks at its fullest, Commentry piece as reported in THE DAILY SIGNAL authored by Ben Shapiro titled The Chinese Sputnik is worth a read, to understand as to what lies in the future on this front.

So, that is all as far as THE WORLD REPORT goes ...

To end THE INDIA STORY section of Dispatch today there are some positive developments surfacing from aviation sector which read, Mumbai International Airport's Terminal 1 redevelopment to redefine passenger experience and sustainability by 2028, report INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT REVIEW which further read that Mumbai International Airport's T1 redevelopment will enhance capacity, passenger experience and sustainability, setting a new global standard for eco-conscious airport design by 2028, whereas encouraging data on domestic flyers is out from International Air Transport Association (IATA) which reads in THE TIMES OF INDIA report as, 'Domestic flights in India most packed globally in Calendar Year 2024 and the report further remarks, Domestic Flights in India were the most packed globally in 2024, with an 86.4(%) passenger load factor, despite supply chain constraints and grounded aircrafts due to engine issues, India recorded its highest ever domestic air travellers at 163 million (~16.3 crore) passengers who flew in domestic circuits, globally overall air travel demand and efficiency reached at record levels.

On similar note, BUSINESS STANDARD report equally cites encouraging insights of the Indian Food Services market, which reads, The Indian food services market, valued at $80 billion in 2024, is expected to grow to $144-152 billion by 2030, according to Redseer Strategy Consultants’ new report, The Big Bite: Scaling Success in India’s Food Services. The projections indicate a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10-11 per cent through 2030, the report further read that, Consumers in metro and Tier-1 cities are increasingly opting to order in and dine out, driven by convenience and a desire for a break from routine. The report highlights how multi-brand companies and cloud kitchens are well-positioned to capitalise on this opportunity. They have disrupted traditional dining models, offering scalability and flexibility to adapt to the different needs of various demographics and that the organised food services market, currently constituting half of the overall sector, is outpacing the unorganised segment. This is driven by online food delivery and brand influx.

So, with this THE INDIA STORY ends here for today, on a mixed bag of negatives and positives.
