Hello Readers and Viewers,

Wishing you all a HAPPY NEW(S) YEAR, ahead and a blissful 2025, after a long gap once again welcome to now the (finally concluded new set of version) edition of THE DATELINE GUJARAT DISPATCH (THE #DLG+2 DISPATCH), which shall have key developments from Gujarat as NEWS BRIEF, with headlines vetted from across innumerable news sources, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally!

As the world enters the new year, the biggest news now is, the world population has clocked the mark of 8.09 billion (~809 crore) humans on the earth! and amidst that, India emerges and maintains its status as one of the most populated nation of the world, with 1.41 billion (~141 crore) head-count!

However, where in the world the first sunrise is seen? It is Tongo, Kirbati and Samao Islands in Pacific Ocean! Here are couple of pictures and explanation on the same phenomena ...

The picture sun rising amond the clouds which is considered to the first sunrise phenomena of every new-year and the First Sunrise captured from Kirbati, Tongo and Samao Islands in Pacific Ocean
(Picture Caption : The picture of First Sunrise captured from Kirbati, Tongo and Samao Islands in Pacific Ocean)

The first sun of the new year rises in the Pacific Ocean. A container ship from Liberia has shared the first picture of the rising sun of the new year. According to a Dainik Bhaskar report, Dhananjay, a crew member of the ship, has shared this photo. The ship was going from Busan in South Korea to Mexico in North America. Then Dhananjay clicked this picture near the International Date Line.

Now you must be wondering why the first sun of the new year rises here. Actually, the Pacific Ocean is the place where the International Date Line (IDL) passes through. IDL is an imaginary line that divides the Pacific Ocean from the middle. The date changes as soon as you cross this line.
