THE WORLD REPORT

So, what is there in today's THE WORLD REPORT, as i scan the online and offline news-platforms and try to understand the pivots, what i see is that news headlines across the world are dominated with Donald Trump's suggestion of US 'takeover' Gaza as Trump said US will 'take over' Gaza Strip, in a shocking announcement during Netanyahu visit and the he envisioned the US developing the war-torn territory into 'the Riviera of the Middle East' he said, "US should takeover the Gaza Strip and trun it into the Riviera of the Middle East - We'll own it(!) - We have an opportunity to do something that could be phenomenal," Trump was quoted from a press-conference with Israeli Prime Minister BEnjamin Netanyahu, in reports by several global media outlets.

However, Trump's 'Gaza takeover' proposal faces backlash, Hamas rejected the proposal, branding it as a 'racist' idea, Palestinians also rejected Trump's vision for Gaza saying, "If they offered me an entire city instead of the rubble of my home, i would not accept it." - Palestinians returning to their homes in northern Gaza are finding nothing but piles of rubble, but residents were quoted in the media saying, "They would not trade it for Donald Trump's plan to resettle them outside Palestine."

It is just not Palestinians who have rejected the Trump plans for Gaza, but Trump's plan for US to "takeover" Gaza amid Israel-Hamas ceasefire is rejected by several US allies and adversaries, as European Nations reject Trump's proposal of relocating Palestinians from Gaza.

While Germany says, "Gaza belongs to Palestinians", any expulsion plan would be 'unacceptable', German Foreign Minister Baerbock criticizes US President Donald Trump's controversial comments, saying that Gaza, like the West Bank and East Jerusalem, should be part of future Palestinian state.

Whereas Australia's Middle East Policy remained unchanged, as on February 5th 2025 - Wednesday, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that, country's support for a two-state solution in the Middle East “remains the same” after President Donald Trump proposed a US takeover of the Gaza Strip. Albanese also added that, he would not give a “daily commentary” on statements by Mr Trump after the president revealed a plan for a US takeover of Gaza, the resettlement of its Palestinian residents elsewhere and a redevelopment of the war-shattered territory.

Equally Malaysia also cleared its stand on the Gaza, where Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said, "Malaysia will not change its stance on Gaza," the media report further read that, Malaysia will not waiver from its stand to free Palestine as a Muslim country, says Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. “With concerns about Gaza, Malaysia will not change its stand on this issue. What is important is that Malaysia maintains its stance, as other Muslim countries,” he said.

Amidst the remarks from US allies and adversaries on the Trump's proposed Gaza 'takeover' edit pieces from Global News Outlets have started flooding internet, which read, Where could Palestinians forced from Gaza Go? - and what those nations said about Trump's plan? as Jordon, Egypt and Lebanon are already home to many Palestinian refugees already and they are adamant that Donald Trump cannot force them to take in more!

Several media reports read from Middle East also read of Egypt, Palestine emphasize importance of surging humanitarian assistance into Gaza, as Etypt, Palestine discuss Gaza Recovery plans 'Without Displacing Palestinians'.

However, An Opinion Piece in British News Media Outlet nails it all on Middle East Policy of US and the Trumpian approach to resolve the #MidEast Crisis, which is titled, "Trump will soon discover that there is a country he cannot bully", as the opinion piece further reads that, Should the US attempt to turn Trump's newest Gaza fantasy into a reality, it would lead to a huge permanent deployment of troops.

Whereas in other developments, Trump inks orders for withdrawing US from United Nations (UN) bodies, and on the flip side media reports read of Congress having blocked Trump's $1 Billion (~$100 crore) arms sale to Israel, the report further read that, Congress has placed a hold on the $1 billion military aid package to Israel amid Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to Washington on Tuesday. Two congressional aides confirmed to The Hill that lawmakers have halted the sale. The top members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the Senate Foreign Relations Committee have the individual authority to block arms transfers exceeding a certain dollar threshold. The decision marks a new development in an unbroken tradition of bipartisan support for U.S. military aid to Israel.

While Trump sends first migrant detainees to Guantanamo Bay, Mexico says it will not allow US to send Mexican migrants to Guantanamo Bay, Foreign Minister Juan Ramon de la Fuente said, Mexico would rather directly receive the migrants.

In European Sub-continent media reports, Santorini Island remains into the focus, as Earthquake keeps rattling Greece's volcanic island of Santorini every few minutes, reports read of 1,440 earthquakes recorded, Rattle by Tremors - Thousands flee Greek island of Santorini.

While Sweden reels from the worst mass shooting in its history, media reports read of, Suspect among 11 killed at education centre in Sweden's deadliest mass shooting.

Amidst the Trump's Tariff war, what is becoming more interesting is the Perfectly Shakesperean situation of UK in opting between EU or US, An Editorial piece in European Media speaks that, "We shall see how far ruthless pragmatism takes Keir Starmer in Europe," - as The Prime Minister's Brexit Reset plan is more ambitious and more practicable than his opponents would care to admit, Above all it is seen in national interest of the UK, the EU and other nations on this shared continent, while a column in European Media reads as to, Why Keir Starmer has no choice but to pick EU over US, if trade war gets serious, whereas another media report quoting Starmer reads, Britain will not choose between EU and US, says Starmer following Trump's Tariff threats, after he said tariffs will "definitely" be placed on EU goods.

Amidst all above hoople of EU or US, media report reads of, Ireland to set up new trade advisory bodies amid Trump EU Tariff Threats, Cabinet is expected to approve new 'resilience plan' for Energy Supply Board (ESB) to ensure the State's energy grid is better equipped to withstand extreme weather events, whereas China says, it is willing to work with European Union (EU) on 'global challenges'.

Whereas from EurAsian Conflict zone, as media reports read of, Ukraine reels in Trump with mineral riches, President Trump seems to change his tune on Ukraine and amidst the reports of USUkraine Bromancing, European Union (EU) hails 'major' progress to set up special tribunal to judge Russian President Vladimir Putin, whereas a blog article on London School of Economics website, titled The Geoeconomic Security Dilemma is all setting the tone of what all is happening in areas of geo-politcis and geo-economics and questions whether traditional concepts from security studies, notably the security dilemma, have relevant equivalents in the realm of geoeconomics.

From the conflict zones of Middle East, media reports read of, Trump very much prefers a Verified Nuclear Peace Agreement with Iran, which according to him, would let the Islamic Republic "peacefully grow and prosper", whereas another media report from Asian Sub-continent quoting Senior Iranian Official read that, "Iran is willing to give Trump diplomacy 'another chance'," however, another media report from Arabian Peninsula read that, According to Iran, US 'maximum pressure' will fail as it did in the first Trump term, The Iranian Foreign ministry's comments came after Trump said, He will reimpose the 'maximum pressure' policy on Tehran (Iran) like he did during his first term.

An interesting piece in Turkish Media quoting the NBC News report, which reads, Pentagon drafting plans to withdraw all US troops from Syria has now the jaggernaut of speculations rolling, especially amidst the private military contractors milking the profits from such warzones.

Reports of conflict between Rebels Vs Security forces are dominating the African media landscape, where it reads, Hundreds of Women raped, burnt alive in Congo Jailbreak amid rebel conflict, whereas another media report read of Rwandan-backed rebels having seized another city in Eastern Congo, despite the unilateral ceasefire they declared earlier this week and in news developments from Somalia, 40 ISIS members killed in a military operation in Northeastern Somalia, read eminent Emirati Media Outlet report. Whereas in another media reports from African sub-continent, while South Africa takes on Trump - Top Government officials threaten to withhold minerals in response to US Aid cutoff announcement, Zimbabwe supports US decision to deport undocumented immigrants, as 545 Zimbabwean nationals face deportation, according to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Algeria refuses to receive another citizen deported from France.

While barring few important developments from Asia,  there aren't much eye-catching news developments, except where Pakistan's President has said that, extremist attacks won't end friendship with China and Ahead of Modi-Trump meet, US Military plane with Indian immigrants lands in Punjab, where flight with 104 people draws huge crowd at airport as US blamed for 'handcuffing' and 'humiliating' deportees.

In South Pacific continent, media reports are smeared with Australia banning China's Artificial Intelligence (AI) program DeepSeek on Government devices, citing privacy and malware risks(!), the report further read that, Several countries now including South Korea, Ireland, France, Australia and Italy have expressed concern about DeepSeek's data practices, including how it handles personal data and what information is used to train DeepSeek's AI system? as well Australia (also) sanctions rightwing online network 'Terrorgram', this is the first time Australia has sanctioned an entity that is entirely online(!) while some disturbing news reports also read of Australia's new frontier in cocaine trafficking, where Kiwi has been charged with importing 20 kilos of cocaine into Australia.
