In similar development from environment beat, the news of Vadodara City submerges during monsoons has been regular headlines, as all the ravines connected with Vishwamitri river have been buried with hugely construction sites, but now here comes some good news of relief for residents of Vadodara is State Level Environment Impact Assessment Authority in Gujarat has cleared Vishwamitri dredging and desilting, the authority has also recommended to follow National Green Tribunal (NGT) orders in this direction, Vishwamitri is a known breeding site for crocodiles.

In news developments from business-pack, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AM/NS) set to commission 2 production lines at Hazira site in Gujarat, with intent of substituting high-end steel imports for the automotive sector.

While in Energy sector, Adani Energy Solutions’ order book grows to 547 billion (~54,700 crore) rupees with new projects, which includes 250 billion (~25,000 crore) rupees Bhadia-Fatehpur HVDC project, which is AESL’s largest order win till date.  

Whereas, KPI Green Energy (KPI) has made significant progress on its 50 MW Hybrid Project under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) segment, which was awarded by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL). The project, which includes 75.2 MWp of solar power and 16.9 MWp of wind power, is a key part of KPI’s expanding portfolio in the renewable energy sector.

On tech front, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel inaugurated the GIFT International Fintech Institute (GIFT IFI) and GIFT International Fintech Innovation Hub (GIFT IFIH), supported by Asian Development Bank (ADB), whereas Gujarat Government seeks 408 billion (~40,783 crore) rupees grant from Centre for #SemiCon (Semiconductor) Industry development in Sanand and Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR).

While on the hospitality and tourism front, Lemon Tree Hotels inked license agreement for a property at Valsad (in South Gujarat region), whereas Gujarat Hotels Ltd’s third quarter (Oct-Dec) net profit shot up 36 per cent at 16.4 million (~1.64 crore) rupees as against 12.1 million (~1.21 crore) rupees during the same quarter in previous year.

Whereas, co-operative sector especially in dairy development activities has some inspiring news where President of India invited representatives of Gujarat’s women co-operative for “At Home Reception”, group of ladies who transformed dung into wealth and have marked a significant milestone highlighting the empowerment of rural women.

Some exciting news comes from Banking space, especially this is Good news for residents of Baroda, Rajkot and Surat in Gujarat State, as HSBC (Hong Kong Shanghai Banking Corporation) gets a Reserve Bank of India (RBI) nod to open 20 new branches in twenty Indian cities which includes Amritsar, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Dehradun, Faridabad, Indore, Jalandhar, Kanpur, Ludhiana, Lucknow, Mysuru, Nagpur, Nashik, Navi Mumbai, Patna, Rajkot Surat, Thiruvananthapuram, Vadodara and Vishakhapatnam, as per the bank’s press statement.

Airport Authority of India to take up development work at Lucknow, Deoghar, Rajkot and Allahabad airports with an objective to improve and develop airport infrastructure to meet growing traffic.

After the BZ Group’s alleged Ponzi Scheme in North Gujarat, now the Ponzi Scheme Fever grips Saurashtra region, where Blockara Company is alleged of having swindled 3 billion (~300 crore) rupees from 8,000 investors promising daily returns of 4,000 rupees(!) on investment of 425,000 rupees into the newly launched TABC cryptocurrency.

Udaipur Asarwa Vande Bharat Train to start soon, after Udaipur Member of Parliament Mannalal Rawat raised demand in parliament and directly with Railway Minister.
