16th SEP 2025, TUESDAY

A Big Hello and A Very Good Moring to Readers and Viewers,

Today is TUESDAY, 16th SEPTEMBER 2025, and here we go with our THE #DLG+2 DISPATCH / THE DATELINE GUJARAT DISPATCH, - THE BUSINESS BUZZ ... Indian markets on Monday closed on negative counters in red zone, after having rallied for last week, against all headwinds including depreciating Indian Rupee, Trump Tariff Tantrums, FII Off-loading, but DIIs bearing the burns!

As I sit down to scan the news headlines from hyper-local space to global developments, I come across flood-stream of news headlines surrounding “Vantara” the wildlife project anchored by Reliance Industries Ltd in Jamnagar, which has got a clean-chit by Supreme Court, as the, Special Investigative Team (SIT) which concluded its findings in just 18 days did not find any rule violated in context to the public uproar against Vantara Project, so with this comes an end to the ‘Vantara’ woes, legally and officially, in just 18 days(!), which makes this case probably one of the speediest ever SIT Investigated, probed and concluded matter in the entire judicial history of India.

However, will the Greenzone ‘Vantara’ impact be felt and seen in the RIL led shares pack on Tuesday, while the trading floors kick-off business on Indian Bourses, or it would be ‘Business as Usual’ with no Greenzone effect on the indices, share prices of RIL lead pack of companies etc etc.

Lets see, wait and watch as the business for the day kicks-off on the Indian Bourses on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, lets take a look at what is buzzing across the World, Nation and State.

🔍 Commentary / Key Takeaways

  4. Crime & Cyber Issues as Growing Public Concern
Cybercrime (phone hacking, UPI scams), extortion rackets (honeytrap), violent crime (BMW accident FIR) are still prominent. Also, legal cases involving celebrities and big business feature in public narrative, showing continuing convergence of crime, entertainment, and corporate responsibility.

ECONOMIC EVENTS & EARNINGS

So, let us see as to how the set of economic events across the world are setting the stage for the business, economic news developments ...

Nice — I pulled together a global Economic Events & Earnings calendar for Tuesday, 16 September 2025, converted to Indian Standard Time (IST, UTC+5:30) and organised region-by-region starting from the South Pacific and moving west. I used live economic calendars and reporting from Investing.com / InvestingLive, TradingEconomics, Forex calendars, Reuters and earnings calendars (Yahoo / EarningsWhispers) to compile the schedule and hyperlocal notes — links are included as source citations next to the most important items.

Quick orientation: IST = UTC+5:30. Where I list a US release time shown in ET I’ve converted it to IST. Major load-bearing sources used: Investing.com (economic times), InvestingLive (Asia calendar), Barron’s/Kiplinger (Fed meeting context), Reuters (India FX note), and EarningsWhispers / Yahoo (earnings list). (Investing.com)

GLOBAL ECONOMIC CALENDAR — TUESDAY, 16 SEPTEMBER 2025 (all times IST)

South Pacific (Australia → New Zealand)

  • New Zealand — REINZ house prices; Food Price Index (local releases).

    • Local timing (Interest.co.nz lists REINZ 09:00 NZT; Food prices index 10:45 NZT). Converted to IST: REINZ ~02:30 IST, Food prices index ~04:15 IST. Local note: Reuters/market commentary earlier this month flagged weak housing momentum; watch the REINZ print for regional housing signals. (interest.co.nz)

  • Australia — (no major national high-impact items scheduled for 16 Sep on core calendars).

    • Calendar providers show a light local data day (monthly/weekly releases flagged on national agency calendars but no RBA decision scheduled on 16 Sep). Use local ABS/ RBA calendars if you need hyperlocal state-level releases. (Australian Bureau of Statistics)

Hyperlocal tip (Australia/NZ): Asia-Pacific markets are running a quiet data agenda — commodity and export stories (iron ore, dairy) will drive local equities rather than a single macro print. (InvestingLive)

Asia (East, South & Southeast Asia)

  • General note: InvestingLive flags the Asian session as relatively quiet on 16 Sep — no outsized regional headline releases expected — but watch tier-2 releases and Japanese/Chinese calendar providers for late revisions. Markets will be watching U.S. data and the start of the Fed meeting for direction. (InvestingLive)

  • India (hyperlocal): No major scheduled national release flagged for 16 Sep on global feeds — however FX and bond markets will react to U.S. retail/industrial prints and Fed meeting developments (see Reuters on INR pressure). Local market note: the Indian rupee and sovereign yields are sensitive this week to Fed expectations. (Reuters)

  • Japan / China / Korea: regional calendars show some medium-impact releases or updates from private agencies; none flagged as market-moving relative to the US prints for the day. Check local BOJ/ NBS / KOSIS feeds if you need city/sector detail. (InvestingLive)

Eurasia / Middle East / Africa

  • Middle East & Africa: typically lighter on global high-impact macro on 16 Sep; local central bank commentary, oil / OPEC headlines or sovereign borrowing updates can move regional FX and bond markets. No single top-tier, globally market-moving release scheduled on 16 Sep on the major global calendars I checked. (Use local central bank pages / Reuters for country-specific breaking items.) (RTT News)

Europe (selected)

  • Early Europe (converted to IST): trading calendars show a handful of country-level monthly/quarterly releases (trade/industrial/ imports for some EU nations). For example, RTT/European country feeds list Italy import/trade items on 16 Sep (local morning) — converted to early IST hours depending on report. Check national statistical office pages for precise local-times. (RTT News)

Hyperlocal tip (Europe): European FX and Bund moves on Tue will mostly follow global risk tone from U.S. retail & industrial prints and commentary flowing out of the Fed meeting (meeting starts 16 Sep). (Barron's)

Latin America & Caribbean

  • Regional calendar: generally light for globally significant releases on 16 Sep; focus is often on country-level CPI/industrial/trade prints when scheduled — check Trading Economics / local central bank sites if you need country-by-country times. (Trading Economics)

North America — United States & Canada (key focal point of the day)

(All US times listed below were published in ET and converted to IST by adding 9.5 hours — ET = UTC-4 in September daylight time.)

  • 08:30 ET → 18:00 IST — U.S. Advance Monthly Retail Sales (Aug) (Census Bureau).

    • Why it matters: Retail sales are the primary read on consumer spending and will be a major market mover ahead of the Fed decision. Investing.com / Census schedule confirm 08:30 ET release; expect market sensitivity in equities, USD, and U.S. yields. (Investing.com)

    • Hyperlocal US market note: Investing.com preview and FX-schedulers flagged “core retail sales” as the headline to watch for 16 Sep. Markets will price the Fed’s path based on whether consumer spending remains strong. (Investing.com)

  • 08:30 ET → 18:00 IST — U.S. Import / Export Prices (BLS) (often same morning window). (Bureau of Labor Statistics)

  • 09:15 ET → 18:45 IST — U.S. Industrial Production & Capacity Utilization (Fed’s G.17).

    • Industrial production prints at 09:15 ET (18:45 IST) per Fed and calendar providers; that helps markets judge real economy momentum into the Fed meeting. (Investing.com)

  • Throughout the trading day (US) — Business inventories, NAHB Housing Market Index and other secondary items (all will be listed in economic feeds such as Econoday/Investing). Markets will also watch pre-FOMC positioning and headlines. (Kiplinger)

  • Fed meeting (FOMC) — meeting starts on 16 Sep (runs Sept 16–17, with policy statement + press conference on 17 Sep).

    • Context: the FOMC meeting begins on 16–17 Sep (policy text + Powell press conference are scheduled on 17 Sep). Markets will be positioning on 16 Sep ahead of statement at the end of meeting on 17 Sep. Barron’s / Kiplinger coverage flagged this meeting as the major event of the week. (Barron's)

Canada: few high-impact national items are scheduled for 16 Sep per global calendars; trading will mainly follow US data / risk tone. (Check Statistics Canada for any local releases.) (Trading Economics)

Corporate Earnings — worldwide (summary for Tue 16 Sep 2025, IST)

  • Light earnings day overall. Major earnings providers show a lighter slate on Tuesday, 16 Sep — mostly smaller / mid-cap names rather than large S&P heavyweights. Yahoo Finance / EarningsWhispers indicate roughly ~10 reported companies globally on 16 Sep (company counts vary by feed). Notable names flagged by the earnings calendars include:

    • Ferguson plc (FERG) — one of the more watched names listed for Tue (check local market open/close timing for its release).

    • A handful of smaller / sector names (EarningsWhispers lists Evolution Petroleum and other niche names).

    • Most major US/European large-cap results are clustered later in the week (Wed–Thu). (Yahoo Finance)

Hyperlocal earnings tip: If you rely on specific watchlists, use Yahoo Finance / Nasdaq / MarketWatch calendars (they allow day filter and timezone set to IST) — these will list exact local times (pre-open/after-close) for each ticker. (Yahoo Finance)

Quick timeline — key market-moving moments in IST to watch on Tue 16 Sep 2025

South Pacific: Australia and New Zealand

Australia

Key Events:

Commentary:
Australia's calendar on September 16 focuses on the release of key monthly leading and coincidence indices from the Conference Board in the morning, followed by the Westpac Leading Index in the evening. These releases will offer timely insight into the direction and pace of economic activity ahead of more lagging employment and inflation figures due later in the week. Recent trends from previous months indicated a deceleration, with the prior Westpac Leading Index showing a slim 0.1% monthly gain in August, flagging the fragile momentum in the Australian recovery as the country navigates post-pandemic supply and demand realignments. Markets will scrutinize these signals for any surprises that might shift expectations ahead of the next Reserve Bank of Australia policy decision.

New Zealand

Key Events:

  • 6:45 PM IST: Q2 Balance of Payments:
    • Capital Account Balance
    • Financial Account Balance
    • Current Account Balance

New Zealand Economic Calendar for Sept 16, 2025 — FOREX TradingCharts

Commentary:
New Zealand's financial sector will be closely tracking the Q2 Balance of Payments figures this evening, with particular attention to the current account deficit that deepened last quarter. While the previous figure was a deficit of NZ$2.32 billion, a further widening would signal persistent challenges in trade and external demand. New Zealand's open, export-driven economy remains exposed to global volatility, especially amid weak global growth and ongoing caution from the central bank. Financial account trends will also influence the NZD's short-term trajectory. Dairy prices and agricultural exports remain under the microscope as crucial drivers for the balance. This release sets the tone for tomorrow's Q2 GDP data, which is expected to confirm New Zealand's fragile growth environment.

East Asia: China and Japan

China

Key Events:

Commentary:
September 16 falls within a Bank Holiday in China, meaning that major state-reported statistics—including retail sales and industrial production—are postponed. This absence underscores a quieter day for Asian market volatility and provides a lull ahead of a busy Wednesday and Thursday, when investors will digest a backlog of key economic signals. Nonetheless, observers will continue to watch secondary news for any unexpected policy announcements, especially as China faces ongoing concerns about property sector weakness and below-target inflation.

Japan

Key Events:

  • 12:30 AM IST: Tertiary Industry Index (July), m/m and y/y
  • 12:30 AM IST: Capacity Utilization Rate (July)
  • 7:50 PM IST: Core Machinery Orders (July, m/m)

Japan Economic Calendar for Sept 16, 2025 — FOREX TradingCharts

Commentary:
Japan’s economic calendar is heavily weighted by core indicators of service-sector health and industrial capacity. Early morning data on the Tertiary Industry Index and Capacity Utilization will give the Nikkei and the Bank of Japan important clues about domestic demand and how recent policy adjustments are translating into real economy activity. While the prior month showed modest expansion (0.5% m/m for Tertiary Services), analysts expect only a marginal positive move this time. The evening’s core machinery orders figure—an important signal for capital expenditure—will be closely dissected to gauge the investment outlook for the second half of the year.

South & Southeast Asia

India

Key National Events:

Hyperlocal Events—Ahmedabad:

Commentary:
Despite the absence of major macroeconomic releases, India remains a hub of localized economic dynamism. In Ahmedabad, September 16 marks the start of the Truck Trailer & Tyre Expo—a flagship logistics and transport exhibition reflecting the region's vital importance in pan-Indian supply chains and infrastructure investment. Alongside, ongoing gold and medical expos highlight strong consumer sentiment and health sector modernization within Gujarat. On the financial side, expectations around the Reserve Bank of India remain steady, with the next Monetary Policy Committee meeting—set for September 29-October 1—likely to attract intense pre-event analysis from local and foreign investors.

India’s express parcel market, meanwhile, continues to make national headlines. According to Redseer, express parcel shipments for FY25 are on course to reach 10–11 billion, with hyperlocal deliveries seeing the highest YoY growth, reflecting both e-commerce penetration and business model innovation.

Southeast Asia

Singapore:

  • 5:00 AM IST: Monetary Authority of Singapore—12-Week and 4-Week Bill Auctions

Singapore Calendar | TradingEconomics Sept 2025

Malaysia:

  • No major macro data for the day.

Commentary:
Regional activity is generally subdued, with Singapore conducting routine short-term bill auctions, providing signals about local liquidity and policy stance ahead of upcoming export, inflation, and employment figures due later in the month.

Eurasia: Russia, Kazakhstan

Russia

Commentary:
Russia’s economic data lull on September 16 follows significant monetary tightening and a mixed macro outlook driven by sanctions regimes and commodity price fluctuations. The most recent figures reflect a pause in further policy action, as high inflation (8.1% y/y in August) forces the central bank to maintain a restrictive bias. Markets remain sensitive to external events and energy price swings. The week ahead holds key production and profitability figures for Russia’s beleaguered industrial sector.

Kazakhstan

Commentary:
Kazakhstan, as the largest non-Russian economy in Central Asia, awaits key industry and GDP data to be finalized this week, with FY2025 growth expected to remain robust following a strong 9.3% y/y improvement noted in July. The commodity-rich country continues to benefit from its critical position in regional supply chains, particularly as Russian trade flow adjusts to ongoing sanctions.

Middle East: Gulf and North Africa

Saudi Arabia

Commentary:
With inflation stabilizing at 2.1% y/y, Saudi Arabia’s latest consumer price figures underscore the government’s success in controlling domestic cost pressures despite global oil price volatility. Steady inflation supports ongoing Vision 2030 reforms, with investors hopeful for a sustained rebound in non-oil activity. Wholesale inflation and lending data will complement the reading, with expectations that strong private sector credit growth (13.7% y/y) continues to drive economic diversification efforts.

United Arab Emirates

  • No major macroeconomic indicators due for release on September 16.

Commentary:
The UAE economic beat is quiet on this date, but the broader context points to ongoing resilience in the non-oil sector. Focus remains on PMI and property market performance for the next pulse checks.

Africa

South Africa

Commentary:
Recent quarterly GDP growth at 0.8% (Q2), highlighted strong showings from mining and household consumption, reflecting South Africa’s growing resilience amid persistent power supply and structural challenges. The coming days’ inflation and retail data will help clarify the policy path for the South African Reserve Bank.

Nigeria

Commentary:
With inflation climbing to 21.88% y/y for headline and a staggering 22.74% y/y for food, Nigeria’s cost-of-living crisis remains a central concern for policymakers. The anticipated figures are widely expected to confirm ongoing price pressure tied to currency weakness and supply chain disruption.

Europe: Eurozone & UK

Eurozone

Key Events (timings in IST):

  • 6:30 AM: Industrial Production (July, m/m and y/y)
  • 6:30 AM: ZEW Economic Sentiment Index (September)
  • 6:30 AM: Labour Cost Index (Q2)
  • 6:30 AM: Wage Growth (Q2)

Euro Economic Calendar for Sept 16, 2025 — FOREX TradingCharts

Commentary:
The euro area’s economic narrative is dominated by industrial output and forward-looking sentiment metrics. A negative read for industrial production (-1.3% m/m in July previously) signals ongoing manufacturing softness, consistent with PMI readings that remain caught between contraction and stability. The ZEW Survey, a key leading indicator, assesses business sentiment and expectations across influential German and broader Eurozone analysts, providing essential filtration of post-tariff and post-pandemic recovery sentiment. The 3.4% y/y jump in Q2 labour costs and wages underscores the region’s sticky wage inflation amid ongoing ECB policy recalibrations. For full macro projections, including CPI and GDP, see ECB Staff Projections, September 2025.

United Kingdom

Key Events (timings in IST):

  • 10:30 AM IST: Labour Market Data for July (Unemployment Rate, Average Earnings, Employment Change, HMRC Payrolls, Claimant Count)
  • 1:30 PM IST: Treasury Gilt 2040 Bond Auction

UK Economic Calendar | TradingEconomics Sept 2025

Commentary:
The UK’s labor market release is the headline event for British markets, with an expected steady 4.7% unemployment rate, accompanied by updates on average pay—even as real wage growth continues to lag headline inflation. The bond auction, meanwhile, will gauge investor appetite for medium-term sovereign debt after a period of relative fiscal and monetary stability. The labor data set the backdrop for Thursday’s anticipated Bank of England rate decision.

Latin America and the Caribbean

Brazil

Commentary:
Brazilian employment data will provide a close look at labor market normalization after a period of macroeconomic volatility. The previous rate held steady at 5.8%, and next trends will frame the central bank’s upcoming rate decision and inflation targeting agenda.

Mexico

Commentary:
Market activity is subdued in Mexico due to the national holiday. This follows last week’s macro releases including inflation data and industrial production, and precedes a busy week for trade and retail releases.

North America: United States, Canada

United States

Key Events (timings in IST):

Commentary: Tuesday marks a pivotal data release cycle for the US, providing a broad cross-section of the economy. The Empire State Manufacturing Survey will shape sentiment around the industrial Midwest and Northeast, with a prior reading of 11.9 signaling ongoing, if modest, expansion. Retail sales—the linchpin of US GDP—are forecast to climb by 0.5% m/m, reflecting continued consumer resilience in the face of elevated borrowing costs. Price index data will shed light on disinflationary progress, as the Federal Reserve readies for its next major rate decision. Industrial production numbers will clarify manufacturing momentum, which has been uneven amid shifting global supply chains and cost structures.

Canada

Key Events (timings in IST):

Commentary: Inflation is sharply in focus in Canada, with headline and core CPI readings projected to hover around 1.7%–2.6% y/y. The data will be scrutinized for evidence of dissipating price pressures that could set the stage for a rate cut by the Bank of Canada. Housing starts, coming off a robust 294,100-unit pace, anchor expectations for the construction sector and broader real estate activity.

Local/Hyperlocal Economic Updates: Ahmedabad, India

Key Ongoing/Future Events:

  • Truck Trailer & Tyre Expo (Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar, Sep 16–18): Major logistics, transport, and aftermarket event, significant for fleet operators, OEMs, and logistics startups.
  • Power & Energy and Medical expos continue, hosting industry professionals from across Gujarat, supporting localized economic growth.
  • Local SME earnings releases: Gujarat-based SMEs across chemicals, engineering, and packaging provide crucial signals to the domestic mid-market investment community. 10times Ahmedabad September 2025 Allevents.in Ahmedabad September 2025

Commentary: The robust exhibition and conference scene in Ahmedabad underlines the vitality of Gujarat’s business community. Not only do these events generate immediate economic activity (through logistics, hospitality, and services), but they also foster B2B linkages and knowledge-sharing critical for the region’s growth. The focus on logistics, automotive, and new energy technologies in these expos puts Ahmedabad at the forefront of India's industrial and trade modernization.

Analytical Observations and Market Implications

This is a day when market participants and policymakers are not overwhelmed by macro shocks, but rather can focus on trend confirmation and revisions. In the advanced economies, the main storylines are:

  • The United States reveals the core of its Q3 growth trajectory through retail sales and industrial production.
  • Eurozone industrial data and sentiment indices further illuminate the region’s uneven path to recovery.
  • UK labor data feeds the ongoing monetary policy debate ahead of a closely watched BoE meeting.

Emerging markets center on:

  • Inflation concerns in Nigeria and Brazil, with Nigeria’s food price crisis remaining a persistent worry.
  • A detailed Balance of Payments check in New Zealand, critical for a small open economy closely tied to global agri-commodity flows.
  • Indian hyperlocal economic activity, demonstrating the resilience of domestic demand and entrepreneurship.

**Global corporate earnings, spanning a spectrum from infrastructure and logistics (Ferguson, Radiant Logistics) to leisure ($PLAY), are vital litmus tests for underlying demand, margin resilience, and strategic adaptation.

Concluding Perspectives

Tuesday, September 16, 2025 stands as a microcosm of a global economy in transition—teetering between post-pandemic normalization and new regime uncertainties (geopolitical, tariff/trade, and monetary). While top-tier events are limited, the aggregate scope of releases provides a clear pulse on enduring volatility in industrial production, inflation, labor, and commerce. Hyperlocal activity in India, and mid-cap earnings across Europe, Asia, and North America, nurture the narrative of resilience and adaptation. The calendar thus serves not merely as a schedule—but as a finely grained roadmap to global, regional, and local economic momentum.
