DISPATCH, today its Wednesday,
15th January, 2025.
Tuesday
being celebrated as MakarSankranti or Uttarayan festival, festival buying of
food-stuff, kites, threads, lanterns etc was at its peak.
Majority
of the parts of Gujarat and Cities were busy on the terrace flying kites, consuming
Chikki (Preparation of sweets using Peanut, Chana, Seasame, Jaggery as
ingredient) Til-Mamra Laddoos (Laddos prepared using Puffed-Riceflakes,
Sesame), Seasonal Fruits (Berries), Undhiyu (Spicy Vegetable Preparations),
Samosas, Jalebi etc and playing Kai Po Chhe Songs at its loud pitch on the Bluetooth
speakers!
The
mood across is of extended weekend which has kicked-off since Friday evening
and with one working day of Monday followed by Holiday today, tourist spots in
Gujarat are flocked with visitors, staycation destinations in neighbouring
states are already pre-booked and the state will have a kind of extended
holiday on Wednesday, as well where few parts in Central Gujarat including
commercial capital of Gujarat – Ahmedabad celebrates Vaasi Utraayan, day after
Utraayan or Kite Flying festival of Makarsankranti.
So,
the news-pack today is not much loaded, as there were limited developments
reported with State celebrating Makar-Sankranti or Uttarayan and Vaasi
Uttarayan on Wednesday, but there are some key developments from across the vertical,
which are reported here …
To begin with the news which has
gripped the state and is the talk at every gully and nukkad of the state is
Custodial torture of Patel Community girl Payal Goti in Amreli, in same matter,
Three
cops suspended for ‘custodial torture’ of Amreli woman in Vekariya case,
as per the media reports, the development has taken place day after the
Director General of Police handed over investigations into the matter to State
Monitoring Cell (SMC) which directly reports to DGP.
While the flavour of the day for the
news across any offline or online medium was Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who
is camping here in Gujarat and was on a kite-flying spree across several
destinations in Ahmedabad. Shah along with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra
Patel will
unveil projects worth 3 billion (~300 crore) rupees aimed at enhancing
the region’s infrastructure and cultural heritage, at Vadnagar on January 16.
Whereas Adani Group reports capacity
expansion with new wind power project in Gujarat having commissioned
57.2 MW Wind-Solar hybrid project.
As far as the digital media space of Gujarat is concerned, what is really topping the content chart or trending on digital news media platforms as news is that on DEVANSHI JOSHI's JAMAWAT, news-video capsule of Amreli Matter being handed over to State Monitoring Cell is garnering good number of views and has topped the content chart in last 24 hours with 24,000+ views!
